Day 1: Casablanca to Chefchaouen, guided city tour of Chefchaouen

You start the tour as soon as you arrive at Casablanca airport. Those wishing to spend extra time in Casablanca may arrive a day earlier — contact us for the extra-night details. Today you head to the charming city of Chefchaouen, perched high in Morocco's northern hills, with an expert guide. Overnight stay at Chefchaouen. Meals: Breakfast

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Fes, local experience

After breakfast you are free to explore the Blue City — Chefchaouen, famous for its blue-rinsed houses and native handicrafts such as wool garments and woven blankets. You then head to the imperial city of Fes. Overnight stay at Fes. Meals: Breakfast

Day 3: Fes, guided city tour of Fes

A city tour of Fes's most precious monuments: the old Jewish neighbourhood (mellah), the Al-Qarawiyyin mosque (one of Africa's largest mosques and one of the world's oldest universities), an ancient Quranic school, and the leather tanneries, where leather is still dyed by hand using centuries-old methods. Overnight stay at Fes. Meals: Breakfast

Day 4: Merzouga, Sahara, camel ride

Drive via Ifrane and Azrou to the apple city of Midelt, on through the Ziz valley and Erfoud, arriving at Merzouga near the Erg Chebbi dunes in the late afternoon. Take a camel ride into the desert and spend the night at a desert camp (in winter, a hotel on the edge of the Sahara is used instead). Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 5: Boumalne Dades, Todgha Gorges canyons

Visit the spectacular Todgha Gorges, on the eastern side of the High Atlas Mountains, then continue to the Dades valley — the valley of roses. Overnight stay at Dades valley. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 6: Dades – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech, village tour

Travel from Dades to Ouarzazate and on to Ait Ben Haddou for a village tour, then over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (the highest pass in North Africa) to Marrakech. Overnight stay at Marrakech. Meals: Breakfast

Day 7: Marrakech, half-day walking tour

A half-day city tour covering the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, Jemaa el-Fna square and the Koutoubia mosque, with the rest of the day free to explore Marrakech at leisure. Meals: Breakfast

Day 8: Depart

Airport transfer for your departing flight from Casablanca. Extensions are welcome — ask us about adding extra nights. Meals: Breakfast
